I didn't claim otherwise. Last thing I would ever do is get into a debate on punk related sub genres lol. I was just stating what types I've found I liked and which ones I didn't. I actually paused before typing the term "proto punk" cause I wasn't even sure it was right but then I just said **** it.

I've heard a few songs I liked from supposed hard core and emo groups and a few from the classic 70s punk bands as well but I just generally never got into them.

Tbh the last time I tried listening to The Clash I was still living in Florida. That's how long ago it was.

I was more into trying to expand my horizons back then. I got lazy over the years and decided to just listen to what I like.
