I think it's more needy than anything else
She told him how her ex used to give her rough treatment, he tried to white knight, and it backfired
Cause most likely she didn't want the dedicated sensitive type, and his neediness shined through
So obviously when you pull the rug out from under him he resorts to stalker tactics. Cause he was basing his happiness on being with her. Huge mistake. I've been there.
