Officially laid off as of the 15th of this month. We kept the company going as a 3 person operation for years longer than anyone expected but the run is over. Haven't been unemployed (except for a month back in 1986 - easy to remember cause I watched the Challenger explosion from home) in around 38 years.

Applied for UI online and have already been getting forms to fill out. Should end up with about 56% of what I was making - luckily we've been living really close to the bone for years now so we get by slim.
Worst case I drain off some house sale profits for the next 30 months and then retire at 62 with 75% of my SS benefits.
Or I find part-time work close by and hang in until 66 for the full amount.
