For sure. The only thing sobriety
guarantees is you wont be drunk or high anymore. It’s not a happy ticket. But alcoholic drinking or alcohol abuse or abusing any drug is a 99% chance of being a ticket to despair. Sobriety improves your odds of being able to work things out and solves one problem with 100% certainty. Sobriety cures your drug abuse problem. Not all the problems you made for yourself on the way but it does stop your current drug abuse problem which for almost every drug abuser is a huge step in the right direction. And it has a very good chance of letting some sunshine in.
