Pale Communion had some bright spots, but I'm amazed at how unimaginative Akerfeldt has grown over time. If he really loves the early 70's sound so much, at least get some rawer production or some tighter, groovier songwriting. Throw in some new flavors...maybe everyone around him is just a yes-man and won't tell him lol.
I still love their older albums like Damnation, Still Life, My Arms Your Hearse, etc. though.
