Thank the PATRIOT Act. If the debts on your credit report are tied to your maiden name and your current name isn't listed on the report as an alias then lenders can't give you a loan because you're clearly a terrorist hiding their identity. It's arduous but I'd also say that you're better off signing another lease instead of rushing into it.
