Steph, I think about the doctors and nurses who work in children's cancer and/or burn wards and wonder how they are able to clock out and go home to their own kids after 8-9 hours of being immersed in all of that.
There's got to be some way of shutting down because so many people through the years have been able to have a career like that. Not saying it hasn't ripped some people apart, but might be worth looking into some reading material on the matter.
