I found going to bed after work then waking up earlier gives me more energy to do stuff. Though, I'm definitely not the success story in keeping my creative energy alive. After time bull**** tends to wear down your passion to want to do anything.

That might actually be ****ing magnificent advice. Removing influence from "them" is a big part of the battle. Making the start point of your day be your time and not simply the downtime of your work day is a big context changer. I think one of the best parts of being unemployed is that you can wake up at any time and don't need to be a part of the "wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night" brigade. All times are your time.
I don't know if it could make that big a difference but it's an actual bit of advice I like.
