Making the start point of your day be your time and not simply the downtime of your work day is a big context changer. I think one of the best parts of being unemployed is that you can wake up at any time and don't need to be a part of the "wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night" brigade. I don't know if it could make that big a difference but it's an actual bit of advice I like.

Not working is so ****ing addictive. The only reason people work is to try create a chunk of life where they don’t have to. People buy nice **** but what they really want is the time to enjoy it. Rich people who work all the time are also poor.
