Ja I think context is really important too, but the inconsistency that comes about when we take things on a case by case basis is clearly too confusing for everyone, so here we are. It may be helpful to try just being excellent to each other without turning every conversation into a criticism of someone's character once whatever you were actually discussing reaches its endpoint. It could help keep our threads from turning into petty pissing matches all the time.
