Sigh. Well there is a difference between a narcissist who's a terrible parent but who still cares in their own way and a narcissist who doesn't care about you except as an extension of their own ego. When I met my dad at the age of 28 or 29 I got the very real impression that he cared nothing for our meeting except as a way to wheedle his way into my graces so that I wouldn't call him a deserting *******.
But while my grandfather is a piece of work who my mother once had to physically pull off of my uncle because my uncle wasn't doing well in school he's still always fulfilled his role as father in some kind of way and when mother was sick and literally dying he made it his life to move heaven and earth to get her the care that saved her life. He's **** as an example of emotional warmth but he is worth caring about and not cutting out of our lives. I think.
It can be easy to hold past grievances against someone but sometimes there is a spark of decency and warmth there that's worth looking for. Your dad sounds like a bitch but maybe your stepmom has her legit good qualities to embrace. I don't know. You know her slightly better than me obviously but a parental figure means something if they can actually qualify as such. Not really advice but maybe something helpful or whatever.
