The girl groups have far more variety regarding music and choreography than boy groups. Boy groups tend to be (in MVs) in industrial type settings mostly with punchy, fast choreography.
Girls can do that, but they tend to do more elegant, balletic, dance moves. Sometimes the girl groups mix it up. The MVs of girl groups also have a greater variety in genres and styles including: Cute; Elegant; Teen Crush; Girl Crush; Cute but eerie; RnB, Rock; Nu Disco; Jazz; Funk; House/ Aeygo House; EDM, Latin and middle Eastern Influenced, Swing, Rap and Tropical I also prefer the girls voices again more variety, cute and soft, or more mature sounding and even power vocals so again more vocal styles

And then you've got the real standout girl groups like Red Velvet who can't be placed in any category except they basically have Red (upbeat) and Velvet (RnB/slower)songs. Their songs (and MVs) tend to be more experimental, trippy, quirky arty and sinister. They are great singers as well. Every title track is a Bop, and they have excellent B-sides.

And then there is the girl group Loona, excellent songs and MVs which forms part of their Loonaverse. String Theory, Mobius Strip Theory. Parallel Universes, Colour Theory, Butterfly Effect Theory, Original Sin and the Garden of Eden. It can get pretty deep.

I have posted a few boy groups MV's on here which I thought were particularly good; but overall I don't think they can compete with girls. Having said that there there are very successful boy groups like BTS whose fans would likely disagree with me,

One thing's for sure, for me anyway, the girl groups have more melodic and catchier songs.

Most of the Western singers and groups I liked, mainly before I got into K-pop, are male
