As I said there is Cute then there is cute and innocent. As in not acting in a subversive or evil way. It used to be just called cute; but then cute; but sinister came along. So some fans still call non cute; but sinister stuff simply cute.
Others will call it cute and innocent because of the splitting of the cute sub genre into the dark side as portrayed in the Peek-a-Boo video, in which they are guilty of committing malevolent acts and using their cuteness to facilitate this.
