Sorry if I can't think of a pun for this photo of a short-lived team of musical talent: Kevin Ayers, Nico, John Cale and Eno. Unfortunately the June 1, 1974 album they did together was a little disappointing if I remember rightly. Still, ten out of ten for looking incredibly cool together.

I knew Eno met up with the Velvet Underground. In fact he got his EMS synthesizer after visiting The Factory. It was sitting in the hallway all by itself lonesome - no one was really using it. So Eno asked Andy if he could have it, and he was like sure take it - something like that. The synth made it on Roxy Music's debut album. You can even see Eno playing it on TOTP. What I didn't know was Eno made an album with John Cale and Nico. Seems like they had a pretty promising line-up with (official/unofficial) members from Soft Machine, Roxy Music and Velvet Underground & Nico. I don't know how well receive their album was. I'm guessing no one considered them a super group at the time. But looking back (with only one album) perhaps "super project" would be more apt!?
