I think we may have a language barrier over here. In England agnostics are more focused on science and theory rather than non-believers, who simply contest that they do not know, and make no attempt to answer the unanswerable questions. Agnostics are more the open-minded, rather than the disinterested.
Which may have been the same meaning as you have over there, but I figured I'd just make certain.
Personally, I wouldn't class myself as agnostic, because I have no intention of ever attempting to find out the answers to the questions of faith and religion.
