It was like having hot motor oil with metal shavings in your lungs. Definitely fever and chills too, but the symptoms vary depending on how strong your immune system is.
No tips really other than hoping your immune system can fight it. That's all anyone has for it at this point, and if your immune system can't do it's job normally, you need to get to an ER so they can use what they've learned about it to help you.
Keep in mind I'm a 53 year old with a long history of smoking and drug abuse. I consider myself fortunate that I decided to try and get healthy a few years back.
