I'm not saying his grasp on language is good. Because he clearly isn't giving it nearly as much thought as it deserves. But he never told people to inject bleach, swallow bleach, whatever. Anyone who watched more than 30 seconds clips of the entire press conference clearly saw him responding to statements made about sunlight, UV, etc. from his own experts.

PolitiFact - In Context: What Donald Trump said about disinfectant, sun and coronavirus
I read that and it sounded like he was tired of asking questions about it. So he starts riffing pseudoscientifcally about using sunlight in vivo. Does riffing pseudoscientifcally prove his grasp on language is not good? It doesn't prove it to me.

I don't want to get the debate what Trump actually meant by the bleach comment, but because the topic of bleach has been brought up ... Sodium hydroxide from bleach always has the potential to kill viruses in vitro. I mean that is the reason why people clean and disinfect surface areas with bleach. However sodium hydroxide in vivo would strip the of cells thus destroying them. And that is the reason why you shouldn't drink bleach, cause it contain sodium hydroxide. The short of it, don't drink bleach. Don't. Don't. Don't.

Another important note while on the subject of bleach: you should NOT combine ammonia and bleach when cleaning. One is good but two isn't better, the combination of the two is deadly toxic.

In another statement he also demonstrated he has no idea what a virus is.

I don't get where he misspoke on the topic of viruses per se. When I read it, I didn't see him mention viruses. Maybe if you have the full transcript where he's demonstrating this lack of viral knowledge this would be interesting to read. In my opinion what he was alluding to in that brief statement are pathogens (whlch he calls "germs e.g. strains of bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi that causes diseases) that become resistant to anti-bodies, these pathogens are aka "super bugs." I don't get where he misspoke on the topic of viruses. "Super bugs" are something that the medical and scientific communities are very concern about.
