My half-sister, Lynn, fell in love with Tony Brown
On trial for fifteen homicides that happened near our town
She went to the courthouse every day to support him
Said she needed company and I attended out of boredom
I thought she was nuts and tried to make her
say
She understood that he’d be defin-ITely put away.
Well he was found guilty and was waiting on death row
Yet they became engaged and as maid of honor, I said “No”

And when you say say, you mean stay right?

I might think it’s just a joke.

2.)
Momma had Alzheimer’s, stayed in an assisted-living abode
Started setting fires, so I had to bring her into my home
My husband’s always golfing and I feel the neglect
One daughter was acting up and I just felt disrespect.
I sometimes couldn’t concentrate on what my clients said
Fantasizing about an old boy friend who wanted to get me into bed
We‘d bumped into each other when with Lynn at Tony’s trial
Bob was offering me my own TV spot while I went into denial

3.)
Lynn and Tony married in the jailhouse and then she helped him escape
Things were happening far too fast and I was so afraid.
My husband was still golfing. I had a date with Bob at A hotel
But first his wife had searched me down saying she had a story to tell
Bob was an all time cheat, like my dad, but not my man
Tony killed my sister; came after me, and the money Momma had.
She surprised him with a golf club: knocked him black and blue
The police came and I went nuts, as all good Therapists do.

I think you should of made another stanza for the tony killing your sister and coming after you, or make it fit better because, well, you know ADD ppl, yea well, they jump from one topic to the next so quick, thats how it seemed.

But now am on sabbatical
That is a horror to me
I now understand of what my clients spoke
I think I’ve learned an awful lot
And none of it’s a joke!
