Began as a movement for justice and peace
It has now morphed into racial injustice
And an outright war on police

I still haven't seen proof of racism
As it pertains to the death of George Floyd
A man's life was taken by the despicable act of another
Racial intentions were never deployed

The world stood united in outrage
Black and white, man and woman, red and blue
Yet, the message was lost in the predictable carnage
Meant to incite fear and distrust in you

One man has become a martyr
Hatred has taken his place
It's no longer a message of justice
It's turned into a message of race

People are joining the new popular fad
An excuse for some to be violent
Your hypocrisy is far overshadowed
By the times that you remained silent

Bridge the gap and make the change
The change comes from inside of you
Don't be misguided by the social injustices
Be righteous in the things that you do
