I don't know about y'all, but I've noticed a distinct decrease in reporting about the protests in the recent weeks. If I only paid attention to most mainstream outlets, I wouldn't even know it was still happening.

Take a look at CNN's website - nothing about protests.

https://www.cnn.com/

Fox News? One story really related to the protests, others about Russian protests (unrelated) and the protests effect on Coronavirus resurgence.

Something less biased - USA Today? Nothing.

https://www.usatoday.com/

APNews? One link about US protests.

https://apnews.com/

I am not generally a conspiracy theorist, but it would seem that all news outlets are tampering down the stories about the protests and it looks intentional across the board. It's literally the biggest news story in the country, besides Coronavirus, I think. Are people simply not interested in it any more and these news outlets have made a financial decision not to cover it because of that lack of interest?

If people are still interested (I think they are), why won't the news continue covering it? Did the Trump administration put a bug in their ears to tone down the coverage? Did they all decide to do it because they thought it would decrease the scale of the protests? Or do some outlets (i.e. left-biased ones) not cover because they think Americans constantly reading about protests would boost Trump's chances in the election? It is also entirely possible that right-biased news outlets aren't covering it because they think it'll increase Biden's chances in the election.

I don't know. But I do know the protests are still happening in many places around the country and we're getting very little coverage about it from the mainstream press. What I'd like to know is - why?
