It's easy to say there's no winners when you're winning. Maybe nobody "wants" an empire, but the reality of the situation is that the u.s. is an empire that acts in its self-interest over any claimed ethical reasons.

Sadly, regional strong men, that look like they're going to replace America on the global stage as the dominant law enforcement, didn't come to Musicbanter to check-in with Batlord as to whether or not he wants that.
One case against american intervention in the middle east is that a local or regional authority is more likely to see accountability from its people than one that's overseas. That's a big reason why I'm in favour of decentralizing the united states down to the city/town level (this is me taking an unpopular stance owo). Not to mention that interventionalist actions validate and garner support for those regional strongmen. I see it having a similar effect as american aggression and postwar struggles influencing the communist boon of the 20th century.

Are you worried that regional strongmen in the middle east will similarly intervene on europe and america if we don't intervene on them first? Or were you thinking Putin?

Your policies would amount to the globe looking like Syria. I'm all ears as to how I'm wrong on this one. But Assad gassed children. America stayed home. Now look at it. What a peaceful non-empire they have.
Should the united states be intervened on for gassing protesters?
