Squire Affinity Jazz basses are good if you're looking for something with versatile tone capability for cheap

For precision styles basses look for something in the realms of a Yamaha BB234

Vintage V74s are good if you need a cheap fretless option with a body that makes you feel like Jaco Pastorius (but I doubt you'd want a fretless as a beginner)

Just a recommendation though, cant hurt to go to a music store that stocks basses and try some out for yourself

''To be honest, in my opinion, of course without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view,
but also by looking into this matter from a different perspective and by considering each and every one's valid opinion,
I do believe that I forgot what I was going to say.''
