I don't frame it that way cause that's an incorrect framing

It doesn't "become an overpopulation issue" because the larger population has a larger toll on the environment based on our faulty infrastructure... That just means that the population is an amplifying variable in the equation of how we cause environmental harm.

The difference between that and it being a "overpopulation problem" is that with a different infrastructure our current population could exist without the same problem. That's exactly what OH denies. In his mind there's nothing else that could change to make 7 billion people viable. That's what it actually means to say it's a overpopulation problem. The distinction here is vital.
