I guess it was a combination of the sorta obvious peacocking you do with the whole disaffected punk image combined with comments like you rejected your parents lifestyle. Or one time you said something like it really hurts the angle of being poor (I think with regard to picking up girls) when they find out your parents live in a mansion. That's what gives me that impression.
