Tlahoun Gèssèssè (Ethiopiques 17)
Mulatu Astatke (Ethiopiques 4, Mulatu Of Ethiopia)
Mohammed "Jimmy" Mohammed (Hulgizey, Takkabel)
Akalé Wubé (actually from France and kinda lightweight but still nice Ethiopia-inspired grooves) (S/T, Sost)

Generally the whole Ethiopiques series is a good introduction to a lot of classic stuff so just browse those a bit if you're looking for more.
