Hey there! I'm really into all types of music, there isn't much I don't like at least one selection from. Same with tastes in art and movies. I think I'm partial to ballad-type music that tells a set story, draws you in and makes you feel like it's something you have lived ... even if the person singing it or telling the story is far removed from you.
I will say - I dislike greatly music that includes a specific name or is publicly known to be about a specific person. In my opinion, this defeats the purpose of mainstream music, which is to draw you in and make you feel the emotion. When it's about a specific person, I end up thinking about them instead of my experience and takes the joy out of it. But that's just my $.02!
