Salutations because like you I prefer a more stripped down sound, particularly in the Folk/Americana genre. So I'm in agreement with you there.
But since I personally know Conor (hence I'm biased), I know that he's always pushing things, even to his own detriment sometimes, to experiment for better or worse. Sometimes it works, other times not. It's what makes Conor, Conor. He's a bastardly stubborn fellow sometimes, but he means well.
