@ OH you don't need credentials to teach English in China?

You’re gonna get all kinds of answers to that but what it boils down to is getting a work visa that allows you to teach. No matter what anyone tells you from either country if you don’t have that stamp in your passport you’re out of your mind to **** with it.
The Statement of the Chinese Embassy in the United States for Taking Over the Consular Jurisdiction of the Consulate-General in Houston — Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the United States of America
Quote:
On July 21, the US abruptly demanded that the Chinese Consulate-General in Houston cease all operations and events within a time limit. This decision seriously violates international law, basic norms governing international relations and the Consular Convention Between China and the United States. China strongly condemns and firmly opposes this move that sabotages China-US relations, and urges the US side to immediately revoke its erroneous decision.

Right now it doesn’t look like anyone zoned for the consulate in Houston isn’t getting ****.
It used to be a bachelors degree and Chinese employer who would sponsor your visa would do it. The more legit deals wanted more qualifications.
The days of just bouncing over with a tourist visa and white face and picking up work are over.
