truth behind the lies
Wake up to the rise of the morning sun
wonder what the day may bring
looking out of my balcony window
to the new flowers of spring
No thought comes of the closing of day
until I turn on the tv
watching the news just fantasy
no one In there right mind would believe
What's the point In questioning
when all you get are lies
someone somewhere knows the truth
but they are heavily In disguise.
Still every morning before I venture out
I turn on the news
I am now programmed to be abused
It's not something really I would choose to do
If you watch closely,
dedicate your time
not on what they are saying
but what more will they have of mine.
More likely taxes on the air that we breathe
as If that was not enough
making us prisoners In our own homes
silencing protestors mouths wired shut
the sounds of silence
what a golden age
am I the only man dying Inside
made to live like a monkey In a cage.
It's the same for everyone
Its called our duty
a country that we are proud about
a country that still stands free
Oh what am I saying
that last part was a lie
now they have me at a disadvantage
because now I know I am going to die.
