you can criticize the very early behavior of China before the threat was seriously known, but the idea that we would be in any better position if the virus originated in america instead is laughable. Very early on China suppressed information. Our president continued to downplay it for months after it was well known what a risk it was. He egged on people who don't wear masks and believe in conspiracy theories. Even after China has already basically recovered from the virus, we're still over here with our thumbs up our asses not knowing what to do. But yeah... That's all china's fault. If it started somewhere else we'd have totally been on top of it.
