Hey, welcome to the forum! ^^ I think a piano is a percussion instrument, but I may be wrong. The piano is quite an interesting instrument to classify, for sure.
Also, I started to listening to JPop/JRock about 6 years ago and listen to it off and on. Some good artists I recommend are LiSA and Garnidelia.
