I joke but it's a real thing. Like seemingly all war movies that aren't just dumb propoganda feature this trope as a way of expressing intimacy between men who've attained a higher level of bond than is possible in normal culture and it's unintentionally a condemnation of real life toxic masculinity cause it implies that running your hand down another man's sweaty neck is virtuous and yet never explicitly states that we should be willing to do that without gunfire being involved.
Deep down warrior culture is gay af and having been to military school where homophobia and homoeroticism go hand in hand I attest this.
