Nobody said it discredits the "movement" it's just something that an ordinary person adjusting to the changes in pop culture and society might find a little bizarre or even amusing.
At a certain point adding more letters starts to look goofy. Obliviously I support lgbt rights. I also support the rights of furries, objectum sexuals, etc. We don't need any more letters. The general spirit of sexual liberation is perfectly clear without individually identifying every niche subset of people in a single acronym. The fact you think such humor can only be fueled by some sort of hatred is warping your perception. I actually fall under one of the letters and I'm less sensitive about poking fun at it than you are.
