military conflict is a symptom. Geopolitics is the virus. Military conflict doesn't just manifest randomly. There's always underlying geopolitical pressures that set the stage for a conflict to occur.

It can mean anything from "in order to prosper, Germans must carve vast territories to the east into their Lebensraum by ethnically cleansing and enslaving local populations, who they regard as biologically inferior" to "we need to renegotiate the terms of our access to this source of water."

what is incoherent about it? What term/lense of analysis would you use to describe the mounting tension between USA and Iran if not geopolitics?
