Yeah the whole web 3.0 thing as I understand it is like some people wanted greater privacy in things you could do on the web like financial transactions but nobody actually cared so internet privacy was never more than a niche interest but what did take off was when grifters and rich people realized crypto could be used for unregulated securities trading and money laundering but they kept the web 3.0 language to pretend like it was something more than a scam.
