I'm a massive Maddin fan. A few years ago I went to see the
Tales From the Winnipeg Film Group docu when it was playing at the Montreal film festival, a very interesting documentary about the scene's beginnings. The one other film from the group I've seen is John Paizs's Crime Wave from 1985, a seminal cult classic definitely worth watching.
And there is this documentary about Guy which is a masterpiece in its own right. Narrated by Tom Waits!
