I don't think I've met one person who likes the Smiths that I didn't wish got hit by a car. And also, the amount of people who say "This band saved me." It's so painful. Someone said How Soon is Now is the Stairway to Heaven of the 1980s. I'm not a Zeppelin fanboi but you can **** off with that ****. I think highly of johnny marr but Morrisey is a biggot that emo kids overlook because he inspired **** poetry in their diary.
Which is to say REM wins by default. I like REM but there are times where I'll hear a song on the radio from REM and go "Oh yeah, I forgot about those guys."
