I guess the real reason I like the Preachers is they're such a thinking man's hard rock band. They're not a true metal band in the classic sense, obviously, and they certainly aren't punk, and yet, they don't really fall into the merely hard rock category, and yet, that's exactly what they are, a damn good hard rock band. And they're not afraid to take chances with their topical lyrics (their slant supporting Communist Cuba on Know Your Enemy could not have been the most popular subject for example).

I keep wanting to do a discog on Phil Ochs, but how many people here are really what you would call folk enthusiasts? Yeah, I'll definitely read your discog on the Preachers. It will give me an excuse to listen to them all over again, especially the earlier material which I'm not as familiar with (Anything before Generation Terrorists would draw a blank from me).
