I like how this mix segues into each track. It’s sort of like a musical tapestry of sorts, by that I’m meaning, everything meshes together into one great dance symphony.
Speaking of dance, and I know the music today is a bit more sophisticated, but the music reminds me a lot of the dance clubs in the eighties where dee jays would mix tracks together with perfect precision. You’d hear twelve totally different tracks and feel like you were dancing to the same song. They also remind me of some of the electronic dance bands such as the Shamen, very big genre in England, I think.
Anyway, I wasn’t sure what to expect when you mentioned a house mix. Old fogey me wondered if you were talking about some form of hip-hop. So, yeah, when it turned out to be danceable pop for want of a better description, I was pleasantly surprised. And, yeah, I kind of like the psychedelic touches too.
I’ll have to listen to their other mixes when I get a chance. This was a good selection, SGR.
