It got subsumed into future bass, trap and bass house music after the kids in middle school who discovered Skrillex grew out of it
Edit: Which isn't to say Skrillex hasn't had some great songs, he definitely has - his take on dubstep just became really trendy for a while - and like all trends and fads, they eventually die
