I don't think most Pagans believe literally in the mythologies of their favored paths or cultures..They're treated as legends and stories about their gods. "Traditional" Polytheists definitely believe the gods themselves are real beings, just not the stories, at least not literally....though there may be some parts that we take more literally, it varies from Pagan to Pagan. Other Pagans actually don't believe they are real beings but more like archetypes. Wiccans for instance generally believe in Two High Deities (apart from all the various lesser spirits), a God and a Goddess, and will lump all gods and goddesses as incarnations of their highest two.
