here's the thing though, Dale and the Del-Tones just have more good music than Wray in the early periods

I don't know. I think it's pretty close. Sure, Dale had Let's Go Trippin and Hava Nagila among others but Wray gave us Rawhide, Comanche, Jack the Ripper, and Ace of Spades. I'll give Dale points on singing though, or at least his use of singers (King of the Surf Guitar is one of my favorites). Wray sang at least one song and he wasn't very good to say the least.
