You have to be specific. If you mean when did music get physically
recorded, I think the first machine that could capture music was the Edison phonograph in 1877, but physical music would have been around back in the stone age, when they were using the skulls of their enemies as drums. Perhaps they were nostalgic then, too:
Urkh: "I miss the beat you used to get when you tapped on the skull of one of those guys from Cave 116!"
Hakkh: "Yeah, these guys from Cave 3214 just don't sound the same."
Urkh: "Those guys sold out, man. It used to be about the music."
