Apparently, my country's connection to the Queen is our prime minister singing Queen in some London hotel. It sounds like he touched a nerve with some people.
I have no personal connection with the monarchy, aside from the fact Canada is part of the Commonwealth. I have some jubilee commemorative pins. Once in a while, they visit Canada. We make a big deal about it for a week or so, then they head home. It would be nice if they would pay their way when they visit, but whatever. It's one of those things I can't change.
