Well done, ChefBrunch! I was ready to be disappointed by I Want To Be Free, but then at about 3 mins in it starts to get down to the nitty-gritty and then continues well to the end.

I didn't care so much for the Bobby Womack song: I didn't mean for soul to be a necessary ingredient, though perhaps I was not clear on that point. Also, his long spoken intro made his song a great candidate for this thread that I started long ago: https://www.musicbanter.com/general-...-biz-kids.html

Anyway, thanks for the recs, ChefBrunch. I'm impressed with what you came up with so quickly and I'm now checking out Joy (long version of course ).

PS: Yep, Dionne Warwick's Walk On By is right up there with the very best classic pop singles.
