Bruton Music - Light My Fire (1978) Album

This is a fun library compilation by Hawkshaw, Hurdle, Ricotti, Gray, Monkman, Bennett & Mansfield. I think that they deliberately based them loosely on 60s and 70s hits and invited us to listen out for the originals. But they’re certainly far enough away for them not to be covers in any way. In some cases the song titles are quite clear (e.g. “Superdude” or “Hawkwind And Fire”). Sometimes it sounds like there are two or more song influences in a track. There are others where I have no idea.

I find this album very enjoyable in its own right. Maybe I’m reading too much into all of this and spouting complete nonsense, but it was fun to listen out for other influences, which I’ve suggested in italics below. If anyone has any other suggestions then please feel free to add them.
