Compared to all the other bands you mentioned they did, 65-72 is their peak and for 8 years that's a hell of a run, they put out at least one more classic album (Some Girls) and a couple more good ones (Goat Head's Soup, Tattoo You) since then, though I won't argue it's pretty bleak after that point aside from a few good singles here and there.
The Remains were great but they made one album and disappeared off the face of the planet, their obscurity isn't exactly a mystery.
