-The Donkeys- Ride The Black Wave -
This was a nice album, a very smooth sound, sort of an Of Monsters and Men vibe. I don’t like their band name but that “Shines” song is very nice. Some of the songs have a weird sound where it feels psychedelic but not that much. The album doesn’t drag on and feels like every song is good, like a Tame Impala album for me. I probably return to the album in the future because Im saving the “shines” song to my January playlist. “Sunny Daze” seems like a fun song to drum along to and gives off a happy vibe. Some of the songs sound like MGMT also, when there aren’t many words but still someone who singing. The album is very diverse since the songs dont all sound the same. I don’t understand the title of the album but the album is very enjoyable, I wonder what is the black wave. A few of the songs are short, being under 2 minutes but it seems like an album you would start to listen to from beginning to end. “Brown Eyes lady” has a country western vibe, I don’t really like it but it’s odd because I do like “shines” a lot. “Shines” seems to be the most popular song on the album according to the number of plays on Spotify. If I had to explain this band's sound I would say a mixture of 3 bands, “Of Monsters & Men, MGMT, and Tame Impala, and considering I like all three of those bands a lot this album is really nice. It’s just that the band name is the donkeys, I don't like that.

“Scissor Me Cigs” is a nice song, probably the 2nd song I’ll save to my January playlist. My opinion on this album’s sound is that the songs with a fast drum beat sound the best. Overall the album doesn’t stand out and sound like anything different than other albums from other artists because. It seems like something MGMT would make but less creative.

7.1/10

Im going to keep my reviews to 300-400 words.
