After our chat here, I was actually obligated to try again: first bit of running since lockdown hit us here back in March 2020. I managed about a third of a mile, then a walking break, then another third, so not breaking any records yet.
A circuit of my small local park is a third of a mile, and on my first circuit I was already thinking about the pain threshold: some people say you have to work through it, but I subscribe to the more comfortable notion that you should pay attention when your body is telling you to stop. What's your policy? After all, I think you were giving out proper training advice when you worked in the gym; were you shouting, "
Suck it up,you wimp", or did you have a more sympathetic approach?
