Cake Cream was already established and a Band before Axl/Alex even met them. They were just opening acts and did little gigs such as playing at bars , restaurant/nightclubs, etc before he met them and became their Manager and made them huge mega successful, wildly famous, mega wealthy. He didn't discover them or anything like that, he just made them very wealthy, successful, famous.
